Therapy FAQs
How do I schedule a session?
The first step is to complete the contact form. Once submitted, you’ll receive follow-up information regarding next steps and scheduling.
What can you help me with?
The most common reasons clients and I begin working together are related to stress, life transitions (e.g., sport retirement, health diagnosis, career changes), grief/loss, concussion recovery, emotional overwhelm, and low mood. That said, I have worked with many people on many different presenting concerns. Please reach out with any questions.
I do not offer treatment for the following primary concerns: PTSD, substance use, eating disorders, or ketamine/psychedelic assisted therapies.
How much do sessions cost?
Individual therapy sessions last 45-50 minutes. The rate for individual sessions is $250.
Do you take insurance?
No, Beyond Sport Psychology is a private pay practice. While I do not directly accept insurance, if you receive a clinical diagnosis, you may be able to submit your costs to your insurance company for reimbursement as part of out-of-network (OON) benefits. I will provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance at the end of each month.
If you plan to submit for OON benefits, contact your insurance company to check your benefits and potential reimbursement. If you are not sure where to start, please send me a message.
How often are sessions?
Sessions start off weekly so that we can establish a relationship and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. After a month or so, we will collaborate on what is the best cadence. Some people stay weekly for a longer period of time, while others transition to being seen every other week. Ongoing conversations take place throughout treatment to ensure the frequency is meeting your needs.
How long does therapy last?
This is a great question! Everybody is different with what they’re looking to accomplish in therapy. Typically, I work with clients for at least 6 months. That said, some clients have clear, concrete goals that can be reached in as few as 10 sessions. Others seek deeper growth that can take a year or more. We will work together to make the best use of your time, energy, and money; while ensuring you receive the care you deserve.
