Dr. Samantha Sanderson Brown

Psy.D., HSP | Licensed Psychologist | Owner

I’m Dr. Brown (she/her), a licensed clinical psychologist who has spent the last decade working with elite athletes and high-performing professionals. I help people navigate the emotional realities within and beyond high-performance environments, especially during periods of change, uncertainty, and transition.

My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. I was a Division I soccer player at LSU and the University of Miami, and I live with multiple sclerosis. Alongside my doctoral training at Wright State University, exposure to neuropsychology, and specialization in rehabilitation psychology at Mount Sinai in Manhattan, these experiences inform how I understand sport, identity, and health.

Since 2023, I’ve served as Assistant Medical Director for Player Wellness for Major League Soccer Players’ Association (MLSPA), helping shape the mental health landscape and prioritize brain health for current and former MLS players. I also collaborate with professional sport organizations to build systems that support athletes as whole people, not just performers. I believe that many of the qualities that drive success in sport can be honed for long-term well-being, while others need to stay in sport.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in connection. I take time to understand each person’s context and experiences so we can work toward a future that feels meaningful and sustainable. I’m committed to ongoing growth through continuing education, consultation, and self-reflection.

I view myself as part of a broader team, offering referrals when additional support is needed. At the core of my work is the belief that connection is essential to health and that high performers deserve support that helps them thrive.
